PURPOSE AND VISION OF TE KARANGA TRUST
1: To support and develop community based projects
2: To promote and offer our facilities, youth development centre,art gallery, working art space, community radio station, visual arts facility and meeting place established and operating at 208 KRoad Auckland.
3: To work in an educational capacity in the areas of youth Mentoring.
4: To provide alternative education youth with a focus on vocational achievement and strengthen professional career paths.
5: To nurture and foster youth within the Auckland area and to demonstrate alternative career pathways using Te Karanga Trust's networks of established members of the community in mentoring roles.
6: To foster and promote links and co-operation with other community based trusts within Auckland city area.
7: The activities of Te Karanga Trust will focus on:
Youth development work
Career pathways workshops
Mentoring and supporting alternative education youth into careers and foundation courses
Promoting educational resources
8: To recognize and embrace cultural diversity and to develop and nurture cultural understanding.
9: To recognize, acknowledge and embrace iwi, hapu and whakapapa of the land in which we live.
** Artists includes D.Js, Actors, Painters, Sculptures, Poets and all those within the creative field.
